My parents founded ATR on September 14, 1988, which means that ATR’s anniversary is always a few weeks after the holiday each year. The combination of the end of summer and the approaching anniversary makes me reflective. My parents’ courage in taking the leap to become business owners is always a source of pride and inspiration for me. I’m committed to leading the company into the future by following their example—treating everyone fairly, with respect, and doing our best for our clients, candidates, and especially our amazing team!

Labor Day is the unofficial end to summer, filled with BBQs, games, friends, family, and fun. I’ll be on the golf course for at least some of the weekend, and I hope you have plans to celebrate! But Labor Day also celebrates each of us and the valuable contribution we make to our collective society through our work. ATR is specifically in the business of “labor,” you might say. We’ve been helping companies find people, and people find work, for almost 36 years—and we’re looking forward to the next 36! We’re proud to contribute to a stronger economy and to help people find meaningful careers and provide for their families.

In honor of our upcoming anniversary, I dug into our archives and found this great piece that my dad wrote about Labor Day. Enjoy!

Happy Labor Day, everyone!
