The nightly news is always telling us about job losses, mass layoffs, industries being destroyed by the Internet, etc. This sort of news is always dramatic and attention getting, as it should be. People losing their jobs can be devastating to individuals, families, and communities alike. But this is only one side of the coin. Job loss does not necessarily happen in a vacuum. Quite often, a job lost in one industry is often gained in another. Newspapers versus the Internet is the most common example.
