Last week I attended the SIA’s 2012 CWS Summit in San Diego. It was great to connect with friends – and friends to be – in the staffing community. The conference offered a variety of learning opportunities for everyone, with keynote speakers, panel discussions and roundtables all focused on topics and concerns that are top of mind in the staffing industry. ATR hosted one of the roundtables, a robust conversation about Best Practices in Selecting Staffing Suppliers.
In preparation for facilitating the session, I thought a lot about what I’ve learned after nearly 25 years in the staffing business, responding to numerous RFPs and participating in hundreds of selection processes. I identified 6 best practices that I think anyone can benefit from, whether you are looking for a VMS system or a niche talent supplier, and pulled together an e-Guide for last week and to share with my clients, colleagues and friends. The Guide covers the following topics, providing practical suggestions and advice based on real world experience:
2. The Selection Team
3. The RFP Document
4. Evaluation Criteria
5. Meeting with Suppliers
6. The Internet and Social Media

I had a great experience at the conference last week and will share more with my readers in a future post but I wanted to get this e-Guide out to you as soon as possible. I hope you find it helpful. Please share your best practices, or biggest selection process challenges, by leaving a comment below or getting in touch with me directly.
